With the ability to access plates randomly, as opposed to systems that stack the plates on the deck, the carousel allows you the ability to overlap processing times for plates.
This becomes a key factros when performing an ELISA assay where the incubation time of a plate typically exceeds the time it takes to process the next plate. With this option you are able to process one plate, place it in the storage device for room tamperature incubation and then move on to the next plate. Additionally, random access is ideal for cherry picking protocols where you would like to feed a list of samples selected. This list could be accross a wide number of plates.
The random acess allows you the ability to retrieve and process the plates requested in the list and in the order you would like.
